Yes. Every new patient begins with a comprehensive dry eye consultation. This is the foundation of your care and the reason our outcomes are as precise as they are. Effective dry eye treatment begins with an accurate diagnosis, and that requires dedicated time, advanced diagnostics, and a doctor who listens.

Your consultation is a one hour appointment devoted entirely to understanding your condition. We begin with a thorough review of your symptoms and treatment history, followed by advanced diagnostic imaging including meibomian gland evaluation, tear film analysis, and blink pattern assessment. Your doctor will then walk you through your results and present a personalized dry eye treatment plan, which may include in office therapies, a tailored at home regimen, or both. Every recommendation is specific to you.

Please complete your intake form prior to your appointment so we can review your history in advance and ensure your visit is focused entirely on your care. If available, we encourage you to send prior eye exam records ahead of time. This allows us to better understand the full scope of your condition and develop a more informed and personalized dry eye treatment plan. We also recommend that patients have had a comprehensive eye exam within the past six months to rule out other contributing factors and ensure overall eye health is appropriately monitored.

If you wear contact lenses, we ask that you wear your glasses on the day of your consultation if possible. Contact lens wear can temporarily affect tear film and diagnostic measurements, and removing them before testing helps us obtain the most accurate results. We also ask that patients avoid wearing eye makeup, including mascara and eyeliner, on the day of their appointment. Makeup can interfere with imaging and diagnostic testing and may affect the accuracy of your results.
